New cage season, how are we looking?

I’m moving Iroh out of quarantine tomorrow!

This is what I got put together for him over the past week or so, we’re transitioning him into a hybrid cage to try and keep humidity up.

I know there are some improvements I can make to how this looks such as some more horizontal branches which I will definitely add.

The wandering Jew is propagated so it just needs some time for the roots to set.

I’m wandering how it looks beyond those two just listed. I’m trying to keep in mind that the pothos will bush out and take up some of the negative space over time. I’m thinking down the road maybe I’ll add a lower plant that doesn’t need a lot of light for a lower canopy.

Excited to be able to automate humidity levels and get a mister, yay no more hand misting

It looks great! I had the same one space, I got a money tree (pretty good sized and put it front and center) at the bottom and it helped a lot for covering lower. I too need a few more but yours is coming together and will be beautiful once grown in.

This is going to look amazing when it grows in to cover the branches. ;)

He seems to like it except when I’m poking my head in to make adjustments or annoy him in other ways such as tidying up after him 😅

I added a couple more ghostwood pieces down low to give a couple other perching spots and climbing opportunities, lots of stuff to rub against when he gets his next shed too.

We kept the basic structure the same

I altered the front hardscape and added a new money tree today, I swapped all my substrate for ABG as I was having soil compaction issues and my pothos looked so sad before I swapped it out with this fresh planter

We’ll see how it goes and I’ll follow up with pictures of Iroh enjoying the new digs

After an adjustment phase getting use to the new layout he is officially using the full gradient

Messing with my misting configuration we got humidity right where it should be and the plants seem to be happy

Hopefully this pothos explodes soon I mixed in worm castings to the ABG as a gentle nutrient boost as well as a means of improving aeration of the soil.

Same with the wandering dude and money tree on the left. I didn’t repot the one on the right as I tried to keep as much of the right side of the cage intact as possible.
