I’d get rid of the carpet it’s hard to keep clean and starts to stink trust me I’ve tried it. Just use paper towels or newspaper or just spot clean like me. Also when you use paper towels or newspaper make sure it’s flat because crickets and other feeders will hide under there.

As mentioned above, you would benefit from more foliage and removing the carpet. Live plants are preferred. A few horizontal branches are needed too. Live plants help maintain humidity and give your animal hiding spots and options in the temperature/humidity gradient. On the topic of humidity, a thermometer and hygrometer are required to monitor temps and humidity in the enclosure. You'll need to measure the basking temps as well as the ambient temps. If you start using more water in the enclosure for hydration and humidity purposes, you may need to figure out drainage too. I'm sure I'll think of more and others will pile on. Enjoy your chameleon!
