Hey!! I'm about 2 weeks I will be getting a chameleon. This will be my first chameleon(not first reptile) so here is a list of everything I will be getting.

•18x18x36 cage
•100 what intense bulb
•5.0 UVB bulb
•Combo deep dome
•Digital thermometer/Humidity Gage
•timer
•waterfall
•multivitamin
•calcium
•calcium d3
•2 large vines
•Hibiscus
•pothos
•lots of sticks

Glad you are getting into chameleons!

What species are you getting?

The list of items you are getting is a good start, but I would make some changes. Instead of a waterfall, I would invest in a misting system. Watering multiple times a day by hand is much better than the waterfall. The 100 watt intense bulb will more than likely be too much for a chameleon in a 18x18x36 enclosure. What species you are getting, age of the animal and size of the enclosure all have an impact on the strength of bulb needed for basking.

The reason for be getting the 100 watt bulb is because it it's usually at 60 during the day at my house

The cage size is good for now but the bulb is a bit much may want knock it back. Just make sure he has a spit to bask that's close enough to the light where the temps are good and won't burn himself. Youll be able to get temp readings before you even put him in so you can make any adjustments necessary too

Idk if if this helps but I'm new to it all too and this is my set up while I build my new setup.... so far spock is doing awesome. The cage he is in now is 17x18x20 yeah I know it's small but the new cage I'm about to put him in will be 27x24x48 ...it's a week away from ready (curing and finishing touches. Read up on this site extensively! It's made me change my mind several times! Lol. Last pic is some of my cuttings I took off a gigantic pothos (I took the small cuttings ... the giant ones way up the tree... which I plan to get when I have the new cage ready are the side of placemats.... if not bigger seriously ( currently in my betta offspring tank) (another fun project for my daughter) (its all for her)I found wild in my backwoods! I seriously can't wait to finish and deck his new cage out.... breed betas there amazing aswell
