New chameleon

I bought a new veiled chameleon yesterday. He is amale I think he is between 3 to 4 months, he was very social when I got him at the store (with me, the lady who gave it to me grabbed really aggressively) and now in his cage he hide and I thought it was normal and today he was cold so I put a different light and my hand went close to him and he hissed at me and he almost fall from the top of the cage because he hissed at me, but the question is, is there anything I can do for him to not be scare in his new cage? He is always hiding and he gets scare of my hand even tho i'm trying to feed him he did ate today and I'm also thinking it might be that he is in a new place other than the store? Maybe give him around a week?. Also is there any tips to keep humidity in the screen cage? Mine just disappears after 3 minutes and I have to be spraying a lot
