Beans got a new home a couple weeks ago. A far stretch from her tiny box at Petsmart and her temporary aquarium at home. Any one have any suggestions, constructive criticism, comments, etc.? She seems to be very happy and crawls along the branches in search of food. Since I took this pic, I have also added a large bin with sand to the left of the plant in case she needs to lay eggs and a feeder cup that I keep fresh fruits and veggies in. I usually turn her insects loose in there but she is pretty fast as first and not many get away. LOL. It is 2 ftx3 ft x4.5ft

I would add more foliage. Either live or plastic works, maybe some more branches. Why do you have a red lamp?

Red lamps shouldn't be used as a basking lamp, they won't recognize it as a basking lamp and have the possibility of burning themselves.

I would add some live cut tree branches of a smaller diameter. Keep in mind the size of the chameleons feet. Being able to grip is an important dynamic in your enclosure.

Incandescent bulbs are cheap and do the trick. I would buy 2 different wattage types(75&100watt) test each ones temp at your highest basking branch. That will help you with trial and error for basking temps.

I have a larger cage and like the exo terra sun glo 150 watt. It is natural in color, gives good light and makes a big basking area. Keep your receipt, I got a bum one and had to return it in three weeks.

Very nice cage by the way, like the mitered corners on the doors. Man and his chop saw know no bounds. 8^D

Yes, thank you so much. I will get the incandescent from Walmart and keep an eye on the temps. Those are definitely much cheaper. That will at least help until I can order a basking light from amazon.

Thanks a bunch! And thanks for the advice, I will definitely keep the receipt. LOL, my husband came up with the plan for the cage mostly.....after googling many pics on the internet. I said the same thing about the doors. When he came in from cutting them, I said, Wow! Those are really nice. He did a good job!
