Hi All. I'm excited to be a soon to be new owner of a panther. Even after 2 months of general web browsing and gathering information, I still managed to get it wrong, ha! Thankfully I was able t connect with Bruce from Chameleon Paradise, who is very nice and took time to point out flaws in my setup...which is exactly what I was looking for before I jumped in and purchased a chameleon.

I was directed to this forum which is a wealth of additional knowledge, fantastic! I'm both nervous and excited, much like expecting a new kid. Being a first time parent to a new panther is going to be full of firsts.

Looking forward to learning a lot here and honing my husbandry skills to be the best owner possible. Back to fixing my setup, have a terrific Labor Day for those in the states.

Picked up the new member of the family today; a 7.5 month old ambilobe sired by Primo of Chameleon Paradise. On his underside you can see Candy Cane's infleunce. Very dynamite specimin.

Looking forward to getting him settled in, named, and documenting my new found journey. We arrived home around 5pm and by 6pm he ate two crickets I held out for him from my hand. He definitely likes to hang out in the front of the cage and appears super mellow.

That is SO awesome! Make sure to drop into any of the Care resources, and post pics so we can see your new family member, how exciting As long as you listen and ask questions, you will be in pretty good shape. Everyone on here is very knowledgeable and they helped me tremendously

Thanks. I've read the care section and continue to go back and read and re-read. I feel super fortunate this morning, he is not a shy drinker by any means. Today he free range ate like it was hunting season. A couple crickets were easy catches...and one he just did a mad dash for and feasted on. Funny, no problems catching them in front of me but I do have to turn away before he will chew. : ). He's been moving about the cage all morning on patrol.

I'll take some pics in a few days. I can tell his red bars are going to pop.

Snapped some pictures of the little guy this morning. Went to feed him and he decided he wanted to explore. After about 15 minutes of playing the in-out game he settled in for breakfast. I like the first picture of him hanging out in the Sharks Territory...go little hockey fan, lol.
