New to chameleons and the forum

Hello everyone one! I have been lurking around here for a while now gathering up information and decided it was time to introduce myself. I bought a DIY cage a few weeks ago and it was huge. I have rebuilt it down to the size I wanted and will house a veiled when I am ready. I have a few live plants and a few other things I've gathered over the last couple weeks. I can't wait to buy the little fella so he can enjoy his new home and I can enjoy him.

Here is a photo of the almost finished cage.

Welcome to the forums. It is so nice to see people on here doing there research before they get a chameleon. I keep veileds and they are awesome chameleons to work with. They show so much personality and can be gorgeous when loved and taken care of properly. You can see my veileds here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/my-beautiful-veileds-142194/

Here is a link to how I recommend caring for veileds. It has worked great for me over the years.

Welcome to the forum!

Many wonderful people with tons to offer.

Your cage looks great, I'm glad you've done your research and everything first.

Veileds are amazing chameleons and I'm sure you'll love these fascinating animals.

Thank you for the links to your Chams and the info! Yours are beautiful.

These truly are amazing creatures.

I was shocked at the wealth of information and how helpful everyone is here. I am sure I will have tons of questions as I go. For now I am most concerned with creating the proper environment.

I am blessed with having a vet in the family that specializes in herps. She and this forum are the only reason I am embarking on this journey. I have only cared for mammals in the past.

You might find looking at other keepers enclosures helpful to give you ideas on how to set yours up. Here's two link to where some of the members here posted photos of their enclosures.

I've been through both threads. That is what prompted me to go the custom route. There are some really cool enclosures on here and some pretty inventive people.
