Hi, I'm new to owning chams, I have owned my first veiled Cham little under a month and I'm not 100 percent with the general knowledge. He is shredding for he first time and seems happy at times, eating crickets as normal, but most of the time he is very grumpy, opening his mouth wide like he is trying to scream, any advice ? also does anyone have any recommendations of good live plants to have inside the viv? Also is there any mobile site that I can use this forum on? as I'm on my phone. Thanks

Sounds like your cham still feels insecure.
Can you post a pic of your cage set up?

It normally takes them time to adjust to new surroundings.

You need to provide a lot of vines, branches and leaves for him to hide.
If he feels exposed, he will continue to be stressed.

Don't know why he is gaping at you, but sounds like he does not trust you yet.

Try to just leave him completely alone except at feeding.

Hi welcome to the forum. Gaping could be a sign that he is too hot. If you want us to have a look at how you are looking after him you could fill in the form. Link below. Pet shops are not very good in general at giving very good advice.
