hi everyone,
Proud owner of tw0 male veils, plus one baby female veiled on the way
Love this site very informative, question about a cage, any feed back would be great, thinking of making a habitat out of a curio cabinet, want to knock out all the glass and replace it with screen, they are about 80" tall about 24 inches wide, the depth can go anywhere from 14 - 24", does the depth matter as much as the height. I figured it would a great piece of furniture and a great home for my chameleon, though I would need 3 of them.

Sounds like a good plan to me, I have a matching pair of my own made from a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. 80" is a good height, so you won't need more than 24 wide and 24 deep. Here is a good caresheet with all the basic info you need to keep healthy Veileds - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html

And some links to my youtube channel so you can maybe get some inspiration from what I've done https://www.chameleonforums.com/work-progress-need-more-leaves-setup-vids-62182/
You can find more professional looking examples I'm sure, but it's a great feeling to take doors and shelves out and fill it with branches and plants......have fun! :)

well, yes the depth does matter but in a sense that you want to provide as much room as possible for them to move around. The heighth is most important of course as they like to be high up as possible. 14 inches is really way too narrow in my opinion. If you can make it 24 of course that would be better.

Hey welcome to the forum. Sounds to me like you have did a bit of research and are on the way. I like your idea and with help from David it can and will work. He did an outstanding job on his.

Just keep asking questions and you can learn alot.
