Hi all, i just recieved 13 painted lady cats. from Mulberry today, i plan on breeding them so i can have a supply for enrichment...has anyone else bred these before, it seems pretty easy.
I know that you are talking about insect larvae, and which type, but "painted lady cats" raises all sorts of mental pictures of female felines in lipstick and eyeliner...
Do these feed on burdock lizardlover?? are they good for chams then? interesting idea for a feeder, are they as tricky as the silkworms to breed and grow?
no, painted lady butterflies, they feed on the mallow plant wich is used for medicinal purposes. you can buy the host plant from carolina.com, when the adults hatch you just make a sugar-water mixture for them to feed on and as long as you provide the host plant and 16 hours of sunlight/artificial light they will mate and lay eggs on the plant.
