Nice u need more coverage and dripper and vinesI just bought this new light yesterday, is it placed at the right spot/ distance from her? It’s right on top of the cage.
Usually people suggest a T5 not T8 but I'm not sure the difference. @Beman may be able to help when she wakes up.Yes I’m getting more leaves and a dripper today. But is the light in the right position/ is it the right light?
They do have a desert one, should I return the tropical & get the desert? That light isnt going to cut it if the cage is over 2ft tall.
That light is basically a reptisun T8 5.0.
If you are stuck with that brand, you need "desert" vs "tropical". That will give you a T8 12%/10.0 equivalent, which should be good for a 3ft tall cage, or a very well setup repibreeze XL.
Thank you! Is the light I have ok?Raise your branch, keep the angle. The angle gives your Cham the option of getting closer or further from the uvb as needed.View attachment 239057

T5 is strongly recommended.Thank you! Is the light I have ok?
Ok! And it won’t be too strong?yes if you cant get a T5 HO 6%/5.0. Take it back and get the desert, it will put out 2x the UVB and reach a good 12" into the cage.
Hi, If it for any reason the chameleon feels like its too much UVB he'll seek shade.Ok! And it won’t be too strong?

Should I remove the plastic?I bought the 10.0 version of that light for my small veiled cage. Also, it had clear plastic over the bulb which I removed (I had read that it can block UVB). I will probably get an Arcadia bulb as a replacement in six months.

Okay thank you! I’ll be returning mine today and hopefully switching it out for the desert T5HO 6% 5.0 is that correct?A "desert' at 12" is about UVI .5. Recommended levels is up to 3.0. Outdoor sunlight is 5-7 depending on the season and time of day.
