New viv for veiled chameleon

Hi

Just signed up to the forum new to keeping a veiled chameleon and was just wondering if anyone can offer some advice.

Building a new vivarium and it will be 4ft wide x 4ft tall x 18inch deep. What size UV bulb would be best suited for a vivarium this size? also what size basking bulb would be best?

Welcome to the forums. I keep veileds and they are a pleasure to work with. For an enclosure that size I'd get a 48 inch double fixture and use a Reptasun 10.0 in one side and a plant light in the other. Here's a link to my blog for new keepers. Get ahold of Todd with Light Your Reptiles (site sponsor) through their contact us link on their site. He is very helpful and will be able to make sure that you get the correct lighting for your specific enclosure. He helped me out immensely with my customer enclosrue and I recommend Light Your Reptiles with the highest confidence! Sorry I can't answer your question, but I know Todd will be more accurate than any estimate I could give!

EDIT: Jann knows her veileds and how to take great care of them, so I'd follow that!
