Next step?

My male panther chameleon has been trusting me more and more lately, and when I leave the door to his cage open long enough and have enough worms on a branch outside of his cage he will come out for a 10ish minutes or as long as it takes to eat the worms!!!! This is a huge step, and I'm very excited, but now I don't know how to take the next step.

He doesn't want to eat out of my hand when he's outside of his comfort zone, which is understandable. He also has never climbed onto my hand, and flinches a bit when there's movement (either from me or someone else on the other side of the room). He's been okay with taking little trips outside of his cage for a couple months now, so how can I continue to build his trust? I don't think he'd come out without the worm bribe/reward... and every time I try hand feeding him outside just so he gets used to the idea of my hands he leans away and is scared again.

I know there are tons of threads out there about handling already, but I can't seem to find a detailed description of how to get a chameleon from outside of his/her cage to your arm. Is Sebastian just on the timid side or is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable around me?

I hand fed w tweezers so my girl would see my hand and associate it with good things. After a week or so id try to pick her up shed hiss and puff up, but id get her out have her climb on hands for a minute or two and put her back. I kept doing this dor longer and longer times. One way I "trick her" is she hates being mister so if I mist her and than have my hand near by she escapes mist snd will climbon and be content after that climbing on me for as long as I wish. I brought her to the vet just as a wellness visit since she was new and she didnt seem to be fazed by vet handling her (until he opened her mouth to check inside) than she went dark and showed spots, but srter a few seconds went back to bright green. I say small steps each day and work off cham, dont force it too too much
