Guys been reading that panther chameleons need a night drop but no less than 65f ive bought a mess cage for my baby till he grows into my 4 and half foot high wood viv that i have modified. I was wondering if i could use soft package spunge i have at my work to use on the back and sides of the cage to insulate it and hopefully hold a good temp for sleeping in at night?

Yes, you can cover or wrap the cage at night. It will only help retain heat for a short while though - the residual heat will rise out the top over night if the room is very cold.
You could also just heat the room (for example with an efficient oil-filled rad electric space heater) the chameleon is in to 65F at night.
