No silkworms

Gotta be hard to be a silkworm company and not have any live silks for sale for over a month I would think. I've kept an eye on Coastal silks and Mulberry for sometime.

My question is, anybody know what's up? Is it a supply and demand thing? Something else?

Because if it's a supply issue I suddenly see a market needing more competition.

Yeah I've been looking for almost 5 weeks for live ones. There's someone on ebay that posts them a few times a week, not the cheapest but will do. I recently gave up and just bought some eggs to try and hatch them myself. So we'll see how that works.

I also bought some eggs. Way cheaper than buyer the worms. 500 eggs for 12 bucks. Hopefully everything goes as planned.

Yeah I've hatched them before and grown my own but when you need worms around 2" long or bigger it can take a while.

I'm just more surprised that these companies which bank on their silkworms are not having any, gotta be losing customers

I also gave up on the live and just buy the eggs. I just wish they were sold in smaller qty. I don't have anyone that eats that many. For some reason 5 is good for about 2 months. Then what do I do with the other 245? Oh yes the wait for them to be 2" is a long one. It takes about 10 days for the eggs to hatch and they are so small you don't even see them at first. I go by the color of the eggs which the directions will tell you. Then I start adding some food.

Ralph where are your friends when you need them?? Oh, i am right here. I send 6000 eggs to Cheryl to hatch and grow for us. I have some arriving here tomorrow. I will see what I have and either I will send you some or have Cheryl send you some. Always to help you after all the great help you have given me.

I maybe should not post this, Cheryl has people flooding her PMs wants silkworms. But I will not let her sell them. They are for us. Am I evil or what???

They may have them, just not a over supply to public. They may have their hands full suppling to zoo's and institutions across the united states

I recently ordered some eggs too so hopefully they arrive next week i'll give an update when they arrive :)
