I pulled out a couple leafy branches that hang from his main basking branch/perch, above where he is in the pic, in order to get the photograph... he doesn't do a great job of picking photogenic sleeping spots. That said, I do agree that he needs more fresh cuttings to replace some of the older ones.

Yeah chameleons tend to sleep where all the foliage is. Does he have climbing vines or perches? It might just be the angle of the shot but the cage seems a little empty

He has a couple cross branches/perches (thick bamboo) that span the width of the cage at each of 3 different levels in the cage, then a series of cuttings from my Camellia trees that fill the space and connect the different levels. I think the combination of pulling some of the cuttings/foliage out for the pic and the angle not being too great (up against the edge of the cage) makes the environment look farther from ideal than it actually is... not that I'm saying it's perfect at the moment. Mostly, though, I was happy to finally successfully snap one of these sleeping pics [by moving the occluding branches] while still not overtly disturbing him.

However, I'd be happy to post another pic tomorrow with the cage as it's typically set up, for any further feedback on whether additional foliage would indeed be more ideal. Or any other general feedback.

Thanks.

I'm in Santa Cruz, CA. He's a LT WC but we bought him from another forum member a couple months back who had gotten him through an importer earlier in 2011. It worked out so well the previous owner was even located just about 45 minutes north of where we are :)

Nice sleeping colors.. i think i remember that guy from when he was forsale if its the same one it had a bad burn on its otherside? hopefully those that got those imports a be havin babies soon.

Yep, Rob, you nailed it, he has a scar from that burn on his lower side. it's improved with his sheds, but I think it will be there for the rest of his life. I'll post some more pics later today that show both sides & his underside. It's a shame he went through that--luckily it doesn't seem to affect him in any way.

We have 2.4 Mitsios now; each male paired with two of the females. He seems to be older than the other male, as with each shed the bars seem to get dimmer and dimmer, while the green/yellows get more and more vibrant.

You may be better off with putting live plants in the cage, instead of fresh cuttings. I do not see much of a problem with what you are doing, other than maybe stressing him out everytime you replace the branches when the leaves fall off :) Can't get enough of the lime green though, he's a stud.
