not enough lighting?

i have a schefflera plant in my enclosure 20x20x40. on top is a 15watt 10.0 reptisun and a white bulb for basking. is the lighting not enough? the schefflera plant is losing some of it's leaves :| should i add another tube lighting? thanks!

you can add a grow light to help the plant and it will also brighten up the cage. Over here alot of use a bulb called a 6500K for plants.

It might be getting to much water if it is turning brown from the bottom to the top. I had this issue until I got bigger umbrella plants :/

Can you get a double bulb t5 HO fixtures where you live in the Philippines?

Something similar to the one in the picture?

I bet they would be very affordable if you can get one where you live. (Since they are made right next door. )

It would totally take care of enough light for most common plants.


They come in 24" that take 2 x 22" inch T5 HO Bulbs.
Each 22" HO t5 bulb is 24 watts.... so you would have 48 watts total.

If you used one 6.5K and one Arcadia ho t5 6% for UV then you would be golden.

Yes. You will want to add a 5.80K to 6.5K T8 Bulb.
The lower quality ones that are 5.8k to 6.5k will work as well for plants...
But FYI...
because the economy ones skimp out on the more expensive phosphors (the white powdery stuff in the tubes) their fullness of their light spectrum & the overall color rendition in economy 6.5k bulbs is of of lower quality can leave something to be desired.

So yes...
get one and pair it up with your reptisun for now to help out the situtaion.
And go for one that is more of a "full spectrum" 6.5k if you can find it.
German made 6.5k full spectrum tubes are usually the best.

t8's produce about only 60% of the light that a similar length HO t5 tube does.
