Lately i've noticed my cham especially in the mornings hasnt been basking in his usualy spot. He seems to be doing it in the middle of his enclosure at the top :S which seems weird to me. I don't often catch him basking as much as I used to. Well, he stands near it but he doesn't puff his body out as much as he used to as if he was trying to catch as much heat as poss by covering more surface area. Is this normal that now days he isn't really doing this as much.

Where do you live? Is the ambient temp in his room going up? Even on cold days I have found that my boy Jake doesn't climb up to bask. He actually heads down and stands on the pot of his plant first thing, I find him basking later in the morning. My other guy Fred will climb up to the top of his cage but he sits to the side of the heat lamp a lot of the time. He likes to sit directly under the UVB and he'll puff his chin and raise his head up in the air. I also find him later in the morning under his heat lamp.

I took a pic of him the other morning before leaving to work:
