Not sure if this is cause for concern..

The below picture is my 6 month old panther.
Every now and then these small white clumps will appear around his nostrils. It seems to coincide with his shedding, showing up just before he sheds and sticking around for a few days after, but I haven't had him long enough to be sure and have only seen him shed a couple times.

Any idea what this could be or the cause? Should I be concerned about it?

Nothing to be concerned about. It's a natural way that chams expel excess minerals or salts. There are tons of posts about this on the forum if you do a quick search. Good luck!

used to have a link to an article about this, but seems i've lost it over the past months. basically it's a buildup of "salt" from the water reptiles drink and such... or something or other. They usually sneeze or push it out and then they're fine. sometimes this can be a shed that looks like it, but harmless. Some people say it's build up of calcium... EVERY chameleon i've ever seen, heard of, had, held, talked to, smelled, what have you... has had this build up in their nostrils and they are perfectly healthy.
