Heck, by the time you typed all that, you needed some spirulina just to get your strength back!

As always, you are a fountain of information. I feel like going out and eating raw spirulina right off the tree, or out of the ocean, wherever you get it!:D

its an algae so youd get it from the ocean ;) im gonna go pick some up from GNC (health store in FL) they carry it in a powder.

swweeet! im experimenting with different gutloads, im going to try one thats a mix of pollen spirulnia and ground dandelion.

^Yes, we just ordered bee pollen last night and I'm pretty excited about trying various receipes out.

So do you guys think it best to use the seaweed you buy at the healthfood store, or open up a capsule of the vitamin?

The MRP formula that is used for Crested Geckos has Spirolina in it. I have been using it on my veiled. He's been very active on it. I've added a meat flavoring with liquid vits now too. He has quite taken to being hand fed this MRP mix.

I bought a container of powdered stuff. I put it in my morning OJ :) I also put a tea spoon or two in each small batch of dry gutload, and I sometimes sprinkle a little on the wet gutload. Its versitile.

I ate some once for $5.. my teeth were a bit green afterwards LOL! Kinda icky, too.

Okay FaunaBgirl, favor us with more info on meat flavoring!? Sounds interesting!

I also use wheat grass powder along with spirulina. Dont notice much difference in the nutrient content on the bottle besides wheat grass also contains some iodine.

lol It's a kind of teriyaki scented sticky flavoring I got from my vet with liquid vitamins in it to flavor my MRP which as you all know is excorcist green and has the texture of grit in goo.

lysine

I noticed in the make up of spirulina that it contains lysine.....spirulina seems to be used as an occasional gut load componant of cham keepers mainly because of the vitamin A but I was wondering about the benefits of the lysine in it? as far as I am aware, lysine for humans helps in the absorption of calcium and wondered if this had the same benefits for chams?
