Got my tree up this weekend, and it's mostly decorated. This is the tallest tree we've had; it touches the ceiling (a little over eight feet). This is how it looks without a chameleon in it (I've entered a picture in the photo contest of last year's tree with Thaxter). Thaxter and his predecessor, Saccardo, have been unremittingly suspicious of Christmas trees. I have probably more fish ornaments than the national average; 16 fish on the tree at present, and I haven't put them all up.
Let's see your trees!

Next week I will be posting about something EVERY Christmas tree will want to have on it...< insert evil laugh here>

I think you should 'hang' your brevs on there...whoo hooo! lookie at me!!

But - but they wouldn't say "lookie at me". They'd say "so long, it's been good to know you" and disappear. And that's only fun 'til the tree goes out on the curb in a Michigan January.

Jojackson, when I was a kid my family was picnicking near a lake, and some cousins and I climbed a tree wherein we found a sunfish, lying dead on a branch about eight feet up. Have no idea how it got there; I'd guess a bird.

Looks like a Fraser Fir. I have a client who absolutely loves this type of tree.
It is a Fraser fir. I grew up with blue spruces, which have good, sturdy branches, but wicked sharp needles. The Fraser has nice, soft needles, and branches that generally will support most ornaments (unlike the year my aunt got a white pine, and all the ornaments slid gracefully to the floor.

Come on, surely somebody else want to post their tree?

Ok so you know your a true mycologist when you have fake shelf fungii on your...shelf haha
No, you know a true mycologist when you have real shelf fungi on your shelf (albeit dead; it didn't just sprout there!). I attached it last year as a feeding platform when I had a fugitive gecko lurking behind the bookcases.
There are also three mushroom ornaments on the tree, but I don't think any are visible in the angle photographed.

Jannb, we had the same tree topping star as you when I was growing up. Nice tree! - Much more densely ornamented than mine. And nice cham ornament! I do not have any lizard ornaments to date, but am on the lookout.
