Obsessed with dripper - should I be worried?

I've had my Jackson Chameleon for about a month and a half now, and 9 days ago he stopped eating his regular feeding of gutloaded crickets/dubai roaches. I gave in this past Friday and put two superworms on his cage door and he grabbed them quickly, but has zero interest in crickets or roaches like he used to love.

I was only misting him for the first month (no dripper), 4-5 times a day, and often would see him drink off the leaves in his cage. His poops and urates were always good color.

Three days ago I added a small dripper, and he won't leave it's area in the cage. The last two days he just marches back and forth on his branches that the dripper hits, pausing under the dripper then doing his lap again towards it. Today I set it up and he just moved and sat under it like this in the picture. He was active all day, climbing around his cage like normal. Still wouldn't eat any crickets or roaches though.

Should I be worried?

I think you should be fine, if it’s a new addition, then he might just be confused, and maybe predatorial. My Cham loves the misting tube, he sleeps on it and climbs on it, just let him get used to it. He might not be eating because he thinks the dripped is something unsafe, my Cham won’t eat for instance if my cat is in the same room, because he doesn’t trust him.

Thank you! That makes sense, since it's something new in his cage. Was just worried he could get too much water on him or something. He just sits there until the dripper runs out, letting it drip on his body the entire time.

Hopefully he'll get hungry and eat some solid foods soon.

I wonder if he wasn't getting enough water before you added the dripper. The dripper won't hurt him. He won't water-log.
Mine usually avoids the mister except when he is about to shed and his appetite can vary at that time as well.

Mine will sit under the dripped for hours! Especially when he is about to shed. He has also lessened appetite before sheds too.

All those pale whitish colored patches look like a shed coming

Thanks everyone for your replies. I didn't think he might be shedding, he shed a little piece on his under-elbow area a week or so ago, but I haven't seen any other flakes/skin yet. Maybe that is the case and what's causing his hunger strike.

He wouldn't eat any crickets again today, though I did see him try to shoot his tongue to catch a fruit fly in his cage. He missed but it was good to see him try.
