Offering fruit and vegetables

[Chameleon crazy]

I'm trying to find a list of safe fruit and vegetables that I can offer my chameleon. I can never find a list with alot of variety.

I have given my veileds greens (dandelions, kale, collards, endive, escarole, etc.) and veggies (carrots, sweet red peppers, sweet potato, squash, zucchini, etc.) and a little fruit (apple, pear, melon, berries, etc.) Slice the hard veggies (like carrots, squash and sweet potatoes) into thin short pieces so they can bite them. Things like apples can be cut into thin wedges and impaled on a branch. If you put the food in a dish in the cage where the crickets can get at it, they will remain somewhat gutloaded until they are eaten.

Kinyonga's list is (of course ) great. In addition, here is a Nutritional Chart that is geared for Bearded Dragon's but is a terrific reference. Veronica from Beautiful Dragons went to the trouble to color code, list Ca ratio, comment on Vit C, oxalates and other pros/cons of particular foods and more. The list is very extensive. I copy and pasted the the two top food types and have used it as a guide not only for my beardie, but as a gutload and for offering food to Luna, my (now deceased ) veiled. I think you will find it helpful.

this doesnt have to much to do with the diet thing i just wanted to say hey lele lol....ahh i not sure if you remember ut im the kid that you met at the pet store that day. just wanted to say hey and thank you for sharing the forum site its been alot of help.

Hey! glad you remembered me! Have you been here a while or just join? I don't get to visit as often in the summer months as I am busy with 6 legged winged creatures I think you'll really like this forum - nice bunch of people, varied experience, moderated so no (minimal) flaming or out of control rants, neat monthly contest and more!
