Consider live plants, smaller width branches, and a quality temperature/humidty gauge (the one I see in the photo is known to be terrible/inaccurate), and lower temp for such a young one

He wont be big enough for a 100 gallon flexarium. You'd have to create a barrier or get a smaller cage first.

When looking for a humidity gauge, as with anything else, you usually get what you pay for. Sorry I can't recomend one for you. Maybe someone else can.

I would agree witht eh smaller width branches. They are so tiny at that age - even at 3 months when I got her, Amy was still small enough to sit on one of the 'umbrellas' on her schefflera plant! These days she just squashes them, lol!:D Smooth, larger branches like you have in there they will struggle to grip on to.

LOL you gave me a funny mental image of her trampling through the plant to get food or come out of her cage LOL!

Do have any suggestions for a decend Hydrometer.

I was recomended the dual Flukers digital Thermo/Hydro meter. Its a real nice unit, the only downfall is the velcro doesnt like to stick to the cage, but its not that big of a deal. You do have to remove it everytime you mist though

branches and feeding regime.

Smaller branches, why didnt I think about that?? I will re-arrange the tank later and send a pic please tell me what you think. maybe someone can tell me if the "Repton" supplement I have is good enough for daily supplement alone? I heard its good and one supplemented feed a day is all that is needed, the food must be no bigger than the space between the eyes??????? 4-5millimeters.

Has any one got any proposals for a feeding regime for one aged 4 to five weeks, I have a fair idea but suggestions welcome.

4-5 Weeks old is really young. For feeding, give him as many fruit flies as he'll take. You might be able to give him houseflies too. Pinhead crickets as well.

Also, is it just me or does that lamp look really close to the top? Make sure it's not hot enough that you could burn your baby.

What are you going to do about water in that tank? You have newspaper down, but that's not going to soak up all the dripping and spraying you'll be doing. You'll have an inch of water in the bottom of the tank in no time.

The 100 Gallon will be great for him when he's an adult, but I agree, by Christmas he won't be ready for a cage that size

You may just want to wait a little, get a small screen cage and a veiled that's at least two months. Babies younger than two months are really hard to care for, more so because it's your first one. Plus, sometimes young babies just don't make it no matter how good your set up. Two months old means they're well off and able to eat more readily avaliable foods like small-meduim crickets instead of pinheads. It's just better all around to wait until you're ready, set up, and can find an older chameleon.

Change to viv

Well I have taken your advice and removed the large branches and replaced them with smaller ones. I have also increased the distance from the bulb so the temperature doesnt exceed 80F degrees. Still no sign of the bugs yet but still have several days. I have contacted the dealer who assures me as long I stick to te program all is fine.

Still looking forward to the arrival.

Am I seeing things or is your mesh chicken wire? If it is, be prepared for bugs in your house!
