I recently got a senegal less than a week ago and it has been opening it's mouth in the cage and when handling it. Should I be worried? It has been eating normally and drinking water also
Mine opens her mouth when she's too hot. Maybe your temps are a little too high? Gaping is also a defence mechanism, but it's usually accompanied by stress colours, and sometimes hissing.
