Im thinking about putting carpet(dont worry its a substrate type) on the floor of my cage to help with humidity and make cleaning easier. Is there a better solution than this for cleaning purposes?

Here is the one I was looking at.

Is there a better type out there that anyone knows of?

It works, its safe enough
Personally I just put an old towel on the bottom of the cage floor. I spot clean up the poop, and also wash the towels in hot bleachy water.

I think the carpet is good. I use papertowels and computer paper. Makes cleaning easy. Sometime dookie is hard to get of the carpet (unless you change in consistently). Plus, when your chameleon eats you don't have to worry about getting coconut fibers in its mouth and having complications.

ECO Carpet = good

Eco earth = Bad (but its just my opinion)

Paper towels and computer paper = cheap and easy (my recommendation)

I used the reptile carpet.
i loved it.
It gives a more natural appearance to the cage, but allows for easy clean up and no ingestion.

I think paper towels are an awful option, personally. They get wet, can be ingested super easily, and those suckers do not dissolve and break apart. My dog, when she was a puppy, would dig through the trash to find the paper towels we use to dab bacon or whatnot and would eat them whole and poop them out whole. And I mean whole, in their entirely, fully intact but twisted. Thinner sheets may not hold up as well but their purpose it to stay intact in wet conditions as much as possible, so I think they're all horrible.

The carpet seems well and good. But how about something like shelf liners, if you don't like the look of bare floor? They're easy to wipe clean, easy to disinfect, and you can buy rolls of it for $3-4. Plus you can find them in nearly any color or pattern, to suit your taste.

.

Thats where the computer paper comes into play. You put computer paper on top of the paper towels so it don't trash them. Besides that, It makes cleaning easy. With easy cleaning comes a cleaner cage for your Cham because everybody has 2 minutes to spare at anytime...

i use a natural outdoor carpet tha resists mold and fungus, it is a nice deep green and has a bit of a petter to it, i buy it a home depot off a huge roll and i just cut it to fit, i have been using it for over a year noow and really like. cheap and easy. and i def, agree NO PAPER TOWEL

Eco Carpet looked cool, but it was such a hassle to have to clean. I had to let it dry out so bacteria would not breed weekly. With all the misting it easily held alot of water, but then again I hadn't figured out drainage quite well at the time.

I went with artificial grass about 2 months ago. It's pet friendly, has anti-bacterial properties, drains extremly well, and not to mention cheaper than Eco Carpet. It also added a nice touch.

Where did you purchase your artificial grass? Can you show a pic?

Here's a pic with eco carpet

Here's with artifical grass.

I got it from Craigslist since the bigger companies don't like to cut pieces small enough for a cage. I paid $5 for it. Just make sure it's pet friendly, has a high drainage capacity, and isn't too high of grass that crickets would hide easily in.
