orange poop

hey there new to the forum i have a panther chameleon he's almost 2 years old now and i just moved him about a week ago into a new cage alot bigger than what he's used to and i also just got a mistking put in to so i was happy with that..i notice today the white tip in his poop looked more orange today so i put a dripper in today maybe cause he's dehydrated not to sure haven't had this problem with him yet..any idea greatly aprreciated thanks

Orange instead of white does mean dehydration....sounds like you're on top of the problem though, welcome to the forum :)
 
hey there you are good to see a first post Tyler, David said it sound like you are on it.
you could also give him a shower if you want,
put him on a plant and bounce the water off the wall so as not hit him with a direct spray. you want the water warm but not hott nd keep a eye on him.
he a big boy so he should be perfectly safe but always good to be carfull.

While a substantively yellow or orange urate is a sign of dehydration, its okay if the vast majority of the urate is white with just one small tip end being yellow or orange. This is especially common in older chameleons that are less active generally and that poop less.
 
Mine was the same way after I put him in a bigger cage. It took a few weeks and another added nozzle before it started to get whiter. He could just be still getting used to his new cage
