So I've been trying to breed these cockroaches and I've had a lot of oothecas laid, now I've tried to breed these last year with no success of having the oothecas hatch, I'm guessing they dried out so I placed the oothecas into a little container with damp tissue paper to not dry out, is this a good idea? Or does anyone have a better solution or advice. Thanks a lot!! If anyone has any tips or experience breeding these PLEASE let me know how you did it, thanks!

You could try. No telling when he’ll be back on. In the meantime, the info I found about them is they do like dark, warm and humid places, so I imagine that would be the best environment to hatch the ooths. Maybe put a bit of lightly moistened moss around the ooths to maintain humidity. Other info I found is it takes 42-81 days incubation period.

I’ve never had oriental cockroaches since they can be pests. I would think like missskittles said: dark, warm, humid should do the trick. I see no reason why paper towels wouldn’t work.
