Well after a 2 month and 8 day break another one has decided to hatch!!! here is some pix. of sister and ??? Big difference that 2+ months can make with oustalets!!! Now I only have #43 more to go

Congrats!

Is it typical for there to be a long period between Oustalets hatchings?
With the size difference between baby and sister, I'd be worried the sister would take a look and decide to eat the little one

No it's not typical... And I cannot explain why so long....And they were only together for the pictures!!! No way do you keep these guys in the same area!!!!

They look great! very cool to see the size comparison.

I think lovereps is sorta kidding here. I don't assume you are keeping together.

No, I didn't think you were keeping them together. I figured that you know much better than that.
I meant that while taking a pic, the larger one could zap the baby in a split second.
Thanks for answering my question.
Good thing you didn't just toss the eggs after such a long break!

Those are adorable, how many eggs do you have? I would love to see a baby oustalet. It is amazing to realize how many different chameleons I have never seen as babies.

I hope more hatch! I've been waiting to see what these guys look like as babies. I want to have one someday :) Thanks for sharing.

Only #43 more to go ....At this rate it will be years before they all hatch..ha,ha!!!!

I had mine go full term 15 years ago, but they were all dead in the egg. the eggs got cold during a power outage a week before they started to sweat.
I'm trying with my pair, but male is not interested.

Congratulations.

Thats a bummer!!! Good luck with your latest project!!!!! Something like that happened to me a few years ago when we had a hot spell here with fires and power outages. Lost all but 4 oustalet eggs out of nearly #60 ...

Put me down for a male, I currently have 1 male and 2 females, I am going to try my hand at breeding them next spring.
