I just made my cham a outside cage that is 3×2×2 would much rather have made it 4 foot but since its just his "vacation house" my dad said no anyway how long should I leave him outside for?

keeping them outdoor is kinda tricky , the morning sun provides perfect uv levels while the afternoon sun is to much , for this reason you need to pick a perfect spot to keep them away from the harsh afternoon sun . its also best to use tall cages so you can have dense foliage for them to get away from the sun but at the same time leave the top 6-8 inches bare so they can bask . if your area doesn't drop below 60 at night you should be good to leave them outside . temps in my are have reaches in the mid 50's and they have no issue with it ...Its 85 degrees out and the cage is in the shade seems like he can't get enough of the outside
I don't really think I would ever leave him outside because we get quite a few raccoons i just want to put him out for a hour or sokeeping them outdoor is kinda tricky , the morning sun provides perfect uv levels while the afternoon sun is to much , for this reason you need to pick a perfect spot to keep them away from the harsh afternoon sun . its also best to use tall cages so you can have dense foliage for them to get away from the sun but at the same time leave the top 6-8 inches bare so they can bask . if your area doesn't drop below 60 at night you should be good to leave them outside . temps in my are have reaches in the mid 50's and they have no issue with it ...
we have raccoons to ! they have never messed with my chameleon cages ! the chameleons don't move a night so im thinking that's why , but my pond that's next to cages is a different story ! they try to snatch fish all the time ! it best to be cautious tho because the do have thumbs lolI don't really think I would ever leave him outside because we get quite a few raccoons i just want to put him out for a hour or so
look up uv index on google it should give you an rough idea on when to bring you cham out door . usually around 1 pm is when uv levels are super high so morning sun is your best bet for direct basking exposure .I don't really think I would ever leave him outside because we get quite a few raccoons i just want to put him out for a hour or so
What happens if a chameleon gets to much UVB?look up uv index on google it should give you an rough idea on when to bring you cham out door . usually around 1 pm is when uv levels are super high so morning sun is your best bet for direct basking exposure .
They are able to regulate their uvb through sun exposure so they know once they have enough .. they only way to overdose d3 is with supplementsWhat happens if a chameleon gets to much UVB?
85 and in the shade will still be warm. I would put him out earlier in the day when your temps are lower. They can dehydrate when it is too hot and this can cause extreme issues even death if they are left out too long and it is too warm. Its 85 degrees out and the cage is in the shade seems like he can't get enough of the outside
Can I give him a long misting session when he comes in to make it a little better since I did put him out today for a while85 and in the shade will still be warm. But they are clever li'l barstads!Raccoons have remarkably sensitive hands, with five long, tapered fingers and long nails. They lack thumbs, so can’t grasp objects with one hand the way we can, but they use both forepaws together to lift and then acutely manipulate objects.
my whole life I thought they had thumbs lol !

It threw me out of guard lol cuz I just placed my him outside ( Florida) and now I’m questioning if the my changes should live outdoor.we have raccoons to ! they have never messed with my chameleon cages ! the chameleons don't move a night so im thinking that's why , but my pond that's next to cages is a different story ! they try to snatch fish all the time ! it best to be cautious tho because the do have thumbs lol
