Overheating Chameleons

I see this alot in some of the threads. People saying not to overheat you chameleons. Do Chameleons not thermoregulate themselves?
 
Chameleons thermoregulate themselves. If they get too hot, they move somewhere cooler, or sit there with their mouth open. :D
 
It can be very easy to kill(burn or dehydration) or overheat a baby chameleon.
Yes, you are right about chameleons being able to thermoregulate.
Younger chameleons do have a problem thermoregulating themselves though.
This is why you need to take several temperatures inside the cage before introducing a chameleon to the cage.
Ambient air, hot spot, and basking temperature.
