Paludarium Suggestions

I am looking for suggestions or ideas on building a paludarium with partial land area and enough water area to house a school of smaller freshwater fish. I have saw one done with dart frogs and one done with a Panther Chameleon. Are Panthers suitable for this type of environment assuming proper ventilation, heat, UV, humidity and light are provided or is there to large of a risk of drowning? If panthers arent suitable are any other chameleon species? I was contemplating an exo terra, 36 inch by 18 inch by 36 inch terrarium. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated. There would also be solid mounted driftwood coming out of the water in case the chameleon would fall into the water.

Anybody? Suggestions on chameleon species for this type of environment?
Panthers? Carpets? Veileds? Other?

with the open water in the enclosure i'd say its not a good idea..... my last chameleon drowned in his fountain i had in there. I'd just play it safe and go with no open water source and just have an auto mister and dripper. If you really want to have a small school of fish near your chameleon, just have a table to put the cham cage on and put the fish tank under the table

Not recommended. It would look cool but not in the best interest of the chameleon. Drowning is a risk, the water won't stay clean, all your crickets will drown in it and the humidity will be too high, which can contribute to respiratory infections. It works better for dart frogs as amphibians.

Yeah I agree with above. Overall a bad idea. If you have kept chameleons for more that 5 years and you build you own cages than you should be able to pull it off. OTherwise it will be a very severe case of learning the hard way. Very ambitious and if you go ahead make sure you post pics -- you will get trashed here but lots of people will also want to see how it turns out.

Nope. Would be "cool" for you, but terrible for the cham's well being even if you could pull it off.
