Panther chewing ficus leaves

I thought only Veils did this bit I've now seen it enough times that one of my Panthers is definitely biting the leaves.

I tried leaving Kale on the tree hoping he'd go for that. No go.

Anyone else have experience with this and offer some veggie that will be healthier and as attractive?

Is this the first time you have seen him doing it?

The reason I ask is I witnessed my guy doing this once. I swore I saw my guy eating the ficus leaves but it turned out he was starting a shed and was doing some weird rub open mouth thing. Sorry very difficult to describe, But it did look like he was eating them.

Did you actually see teeth marks or chunks out of the ficus leaf missing?

Yes I definitely saw teeth marks and chunks missing. I even saved a couple I removed from the tree in case people were skeptical I'd take a pic. I wanted too long and they're all dried out though

WOW, Sorry I can't offer any advise but that is interesting. It will be interesting to hear what others think of it.

No need for pics , I believe you :p

yeah... the first week i had Cinder he started gnawing on the trunk of his ficus pretty violently..he would also go around licking branches/leaves..it kindda freaked me out:) I remember reading sometimes a male will taste the tree/limbs/leaves to see if the territory is occupied.. males mark their territory buy rubbing their cloaca/vent all over their tree..

My panther eats his ficus leaves too, once in a while.

This was about a month ago, and I haven't seen it much sense, but I do sometimes see little hunks of his tree missing.
That leaf was all yellowed, but he does eat the green ones too.
