Well I gave him some superworms (2) on tuesday and he hasn't touched a cricket since then. But If i show him a super he is ready to attack and eat. What to do?

OK I'm not going to feed him until wens he has like 4 loose crickets in his cage now but he just walks by like they are his best buds lol.

If he refuses the crix much longer, I'd keep him off them for a littlewhile. Maybe a month or so. Then when you reintroduce the crix, I bet he zaps them straight away. Thats how my male Veiled is. Crix are more like a treat to him, with supers being the staple.

Supers are ok as long as they are well gutloaded as you would with crickets.

I use both but they are a great alternative when crickets start to get boring. Do you use roaches, horn and silkworms as well?

It waxworms that are high in fat content that should be used as treats

Well I have heard a few others like myself that use mainly Supers. But I dont know if that is okay for Panthers. Might ask around about that. I do mix it up everyother week and get some crix and once a month I order either Silkies or Hornworms.

Gut load them on what? I just leave them in the bedding the store gives me them in. Also they get horns about 2-3 times a month. They won't touch silk worms.

You can gutload supers with all sorts of stuff. Carrots (not alot though), Apples, Potato. (These make a fairly cheap (although not the best nutritionally) moisture source, especially if you keep large amounts of superworms.)

Mustard, Collard, & Turnip Greens, Kale, Rapini, Watercress, Arugula, Endive, Escarole.

Green Beans, Peas (Snap, Snow, etc.), Parsnip, Squash, Okra.

I just ran into this problem, he'll eat teh supers but not the crickets >.<... ill have to stop with the crickets for a while.. he won't even touch roaches anymore..or crickets..he was going fora cricket the other day..but then was like nah nvm its a cricket
put 2 supers in and blamo.

Hey Tim. How did it go with your veiled female? I would just try some silkies and gutloaded supers for a while and also some roaches. He will want those crix again later down the road. He is just tired of them;) Mine get the same way. D.H. wouldnt touch a roach about 2 weeks ago and 2 months before this he wouldnt touch crix so I figured it was time to get some bigger crix for the adults. All of them went insane over them like they have never tried one:D How is Sancho doing? Got any recent pics? I also lost your email when deleting the unnecessary ones. If you could PM me that I would appreciate it. Hope all is going well and feel free to call or PM me if you have any questions at all.

I have the opposite problem, all mine ever wants is crix lol won't touch supers, silkies, ect will eat flies and hornworms but only most of the time, and someonetimes butterworms ... but damn he cgobbles up the crix

I think I'm very lucky. By ensuring I offer a different feeder at every meal, mine never know what to expect and never get bored. They do have preferences. But they've seemed to have learned that if they choose to not eat what's put in front of them, they go hungry. they rarely choose to go hungry. I do not give in to them, or I'd be feeding a different favourite to each one and have to worry about nutrition.

that said, some are way more stubborn.

I mix a batch of 1/2 gutload and 1/2 oats and let them swim in that. I also throw in some veggies for moisture and as an added gutload.
