panther eating tree bark

I have natural tree branches in my panther chameleon ' s cage and recently I noticed he is biting on them, is this bad?

I would assume that bark is probably the worst for a chameleon to eat. I say this because bark is a lot more solid and jaded then say moss or coco fiber. I am no expert but I would honestly remove the bark.

I've read that it is common for panthers to bite things like that. My guy bites at his curly willow branches... He's been doing it for a while; ever since I put them in there. I'm not Completely sure if it's safe or not, but my guy seems to be just fine.
