Panther eating tree!?

Hey guys,
I put a tropical hibiscus in my 8 month panther ambilobes cage. I just walked up to his cage and noticed him EATING from the tree trunk. He was biting small pieces of wood off the branches. Should I worry! ?

No, it is somewhat common for panther to chew on sticks, bark, leaves and flowers.

I would personally look into his diet though. All the way around. From supplements to how often you feed.

Im not saying any of these are the cause. Just eliminate possible causes if it is the case.
*Make sure you are giving him enough food. At 8 months he should still have food daily.
*Use a Preformed multivitamin like reptivite or calcium plus. If you are anti preformed. Look into your gut load ingredient options.

Chameleons of various species sometimes like to nibble on things such as nostortium, hibiscus, rose, dandelion and ficus. They will sometimes resort to eating leaves if they are dehydrated.

Young panthers are always chewing on something. I am curious if it is teething like a baby. Can you imagine all those teeth growing in? If you really want to torture your hibiscus, put a veil in with it. They will eat every flower on it. Relax, all is normal. Every species of cham has to have a bad habit.

Mine ate somthing in his tank this morning. Befor k fed him?. an escaped feeder or somthing else.. who know?? Lol

Ya some young panthers will naw on sticks like a dog. If they're biting the leaves or eating leaves its a sign of dehydration. They go for the leaves because of their water content.
