Hi I'm new to the forum.Let me explain my story. I became a first time chameleon owner back in June of this year I received my 1st panther chameleon he was about Is 4 months old when we got him.. The breeder was being very nice and gave us two eggs as a gift to hatch on our own. I don't want to sound uncaring but but as a new owner i know getting eggs right off the bat isn't really advised because they are so hard to care for as hatchling. I did try to refuse the eggs a few times but unfortunately we ended up with them.. I don't want to sound unloving or that we just don't want extra pets but I just know that they can get expensive and their high maintenance. Now that we have them we are making the best out of this situation and making it a learning experience for our kids. Our plan is as long as they hatch we're gonna give him away at age 4 months or older.
I have been talking to our breeder a lot over the last 6 months asking lots of questions trying to get ready. Around Thanksgiving I started getting pics of babies born from there clutch. As of a week or so ago I found out all his eggs have hatched. Unfortunately I realized we were doing something wrong. We have had the eggs a consistent 67 degrees throughout incubation which now I know is wrong. I have read this is acceptable it would just slow down the process. My breeder assures me they are fine and they will eventually hatch. I have talked to someone at TN State University school of veterinarian medicine and the informed me if the don't hatch in 1 week to assume they are dead. Boo this made me sick to my stomach. We have tried candling the eggs and they don't glow yellow they have something in them that takes up free space. We have seen a little movement in the eggs when we did the candling. We have noticed some increased windowing going on with one of the eggs. Is this a good sign? I have been google searching like crazy and coming up with just the most basic of information. I have asked people on Fb forums questions but I just keep getting contraindicating answers and now have no clue how to believe. Any help would help ease my mind.
