Panther hatching

I bought a panther chameleon egg, it was laid 12/17 on Thursday it began sweating and shrinking. Early Saturday afternoon it pipped and seemed to be trying to get out, lots of movement. It managed to get most of its head out but then the movement slowed, the baby went back into the egg entirely and nothing has happened since. It's now 1:26am.
This is my first egg and I'm really nervous that something may be wrong.
Is it normal for them to go back into the egg?

The first egg I bought didn't make it and molded over shortly after I received it. I feel like as a result of the first one I have been extra worried about the second.
