Hello all,
Just wanted to share a photo of a panther in the chameleon exhibit at Audubon zoo in New Orleans. While I'm usually proud of our Zoo for its proper care of its animals, I was hurt when I saw this little guy

When I saw the Panther chameleon label in the reptiles exhibit I jumped out of excitement but when I found him collapsed in the corner I was heartbroken. I hope you proud panther owners take every possible precaution as to prevent your beautiful chams from ending up like this
Thanks,
Grayson

Stress City!!

And you can tell by his color, whatever type classification he is, that he is super stressed:(:mad:!! That breaks my heart!

Are you sure this is not just him try to warm up in the sun? What was there to stress him/her out? It is hard to tell by the close up. Seemed the cage was well planted. What was improper about their care?

That looks like a young F. oustaleti to me. That is actually pretty close to their normal coloration. This is probably just a mislabeling on the species.

I have seen them dark like this plenty. They look the same at the Norfolk Zoo. A store owner near me breeds them and pretty well at that. They simply just aren't that colorful sometimes. You go with your correct ID and technical name .
