My panther chameleon is 5 months old now, he is very healthy and doing very good. But for the last couple days he has refused to eat crickets, he eats wax worms and butter worms from my hand but he still runs to the bottom of the tank and will start trying to eat things. I've been fighting with him all morning to get him to stop, Anyone able to help me?

One day he loves eating crickets and is eating lots, the next day I can't get him to eat one cricket but he will eat peat moss off the bottom of the tank!?

He maybe tired of cricket my chameleon is the same age and last month did the same thing for about a week so I got some hornworms and after that he started eating crickets again. He could also be ready to shed and doesnt wanr to eat.

I am not a chameleon expert at all so there will be some corrections in this and probably a lot of spelling errors so try to read the best you can. My advice is to take out all the stuff at the bottom and replace it with a hard plastic that fits your tank or get repti-carpet that will take care of the moss eating. Now that you've done that start feeding the crickets if he eats them then thats good then on the next day feed him again if he goes to the bottom of the tank and is looking at the carpet and not doing anything then he should just go for the crickets if he doesn't then wait until the next day. When chameleons get older they don't eat everyday. If she is going after the carpet you might wanna double check if it's a male or a female for sure if it's a female then she might have eggs and could be trying to lay her eggs and if you don't give here a bin she could die. IF you have any questions i'll try to answer like i said i'm not an expert. Also can you post a pic of your vivarium i wanna see it :)

Oscar is a male Panther chameleon, I honestly think he may just be sick of Crickets... Cause he will eat anything else out of my hand. His tank I built myself, It is a 6'x3'x3'. For some reason it won't let me add an attachment... Look in my album I will put it in there.

I offered him crickets in a cup, and in his cricket feeder I made him. He just wouldn't go for it. But as soon as I put a worm near him he didn't even think twice. He hasn't been going to the bottom of the tank since I gave him 4 more worms.
