Panther Setup

Hello all! My name is Benjamin. Happy to have found this site and hope to get some great information to make my new panther chameleon as happy as possible.

Pictures will follow, and as you will see I am using the paper towel substrate option, with higher jungle vines/branches etc for him to temperature regulate.

My question is what to do in the lower section. As of now I simply have one lucky bamboo, and one umbrella tree. My issue with this is, well aesthetically it is not very nice, as well as functionally.

Although the little guy spends most of his time in the upper area of the enclosure, I want him to feel safe to adventure down, and also if he happens to fall.

Anyway, very open to suggestions. My only initial thought was to get more jungle vine and manipulate some pothos to grow along the bottom and sides.. if that is possible?

Thank you in advance for looking!

Looks like you did your research!!! Your cage looks good congrats! You chameleon is a boy so most likely he will only be on the bottom of his cage when he is looking for food. I think you should leave it the way it is,it makes it easier for him to see his food! Welcome to the forums! :)

I think a simple solution for aesthetics would be to visually cover up the lower half of your cage with something so it is not visible :)

like chamfan said, your guy will rarely be down there anyway so a visual block of the planters may give the aesthetic boost you are looking for.

alternatively, you cna buy a vining/ground cover plant (pothos is very easy and fast growing) and let it vine out along the bottm
