Hey guys just wondering if anyone has ever seen this before?
He seems perfectly healthy no problems there..He is growing fast sometimes sometimes legs but tail is getting huge the fastest!
From underneath it looks like it grew but could not shed kind like a think shed no it crack in the spots were it wrinkles when u curls it up..He is spritzed twice daily allot!also the he drinks out of the end of the spritzer lol so i know exactly how much he drinks daily and its enough for sure..Maybe my apartment is to warm?
He is in no discomfort or pain he seems very normal in ever way but This was not like this a few days before.
The first pic is a day before i notices this... perfect color and everything..He is only 1 year and 2 months so color is not in much yet soon though!

O'my. My intial reaction is that he may be cutting them on the plastic fake foliage. Run your fingers over the plastic and see if it is sharp in any way. From the pictures it looks possible.

The bottom side of there tail has scales that are different from there body. They are positioned to grip. As they walk about, they will wind the tail on previous branches or foliage for an event that may involve them having to fall. Instead of bouncing off of every branch below they literally just dangle.

My second thought would be that your animal has some sort of skin infection.

To help cure this (if these are lacerations caused from something in the cage). Try finding the source of the issue, change out the vines or anything that looks likely to cause this. Clean any perches or vines. Take some providone iodine and mix it with bottle water. Mix till it looks like a mild tea solution. Soak the tail 5-15 minutes. If this is not an option, try to wash the area with the solution and try to flush the wounds the best you can with the solution.

Ok I will wash it for sure ! But if you could see it live like I can it looks as though his tail grew again which it's always doing and there is a shed on it still a very think shed .. To me it looks as of they growth and this thick shed happened to fast and the shed is on there still but an unusually think one .. Sounds weird I know but that's exactly what it looks like .. Even in the pics u can see its not nice new skin it's kinda covered over with a think shed .. I can't explain it any better .. Probably you r laughing but if u seen it you would understand what I'm trying to say .. I will try for better pics tomorrow !

Only way i can see wounds coming from a shed is if "you" physically remove it way to soon.

The more i look at the wounds makes me think it is a infection. Id suggest you taking your animal in to the vet to verify.

Ok , no I would never remove a shed it always fell off so nice .. But this is a thinker callous type skin not at all like a normal shed very think weird skin .. And I wonder if my apartment is to warm and it dry skin cracks because it's only in the wrinkles where his tail curls around like u know those lines you can see ..

Callous: This could be dried infection or even dried fluids from the wounds.

Your chameleon appears to be hydrated so i would doubt dry condition are causing this.

Personally, i would remove the furnishings you have currently in place. I would buy new vines and a live plant like a pathos. Maybe try some old fashion hemp rope (without freys), natural hard wood limbs from your area, etc. I also recommend you taking him in to a vet.
