Parsonii hatching 2.0

That's a great greenhouse you've got going there, Garrett! May I ask what area of the world you are located in, and how you keep it going year-round?

First three are doing good, egg #4 shrank but didn't hatch..I cut the shell on that one to find an underdeveloped dead baby :( Egg #5 hatched last night with a strong hatchling.. so I have 4 total at this point, 7 more eggs to go. This clutch was deposited off schedule and I wasn't as strict with the moisture content changes in the medium to simulate seasons, probably why I'm not getting a good strong hatch all at once. This is good data for next year's incubation.

Well... I spoke too soon. #4 baby that I thought died hatched out of a cut open rotting egg! Good thing I didn't throw that one out!:eek::eek:
He looks perfect, I'm stunned. Don't count them out unless you're absolutely sure! So now we're at 5, the rest of the eggs look like they might start sweating any time.

That's great news, and surprising! Did it continue to develop over the last couple days with the egg cut open, or do you think it was just doing better than expected at first?

"Don't count your parsonii till they're hatched" is what I always say! Or at least what I'll be saying from now on .

There was a large yolk mass, blood vessels, and the liquid inside the egg looked really cloudy and bad, almost solidified. I didn't get a good look at the neonate but judging by the condition of the insides I thought for sure it was dead and underdeveloped. Over the next few days the egg started to mold and turn gross colors. Just by chance I looked at the separate container I had this egg in and saw the baby pawing at the sides of the container. Amazingly he slit the eggshell on the ends where I didn't cut and hatched out of this disgusting mass haha!

I thought this perch was appropriate for the little guy that came back to life:ROFLMAO:

You will have to give it a disgusting name now. Something to reflect the cesspool it crawled from.

That or send it to me, I deal with gross stuff all the time.
