Petsmarts - 'Crickets to Go'.

So every now and then i would buy Petsmarts 'Crickets to go' where they sell a plastic container with a number of crickets in it, with food and card board for them to hide in.

Does anyone know what they use to gut load these crickets with?

The 'food' that comes with them is a green shaped cube and was wondering if anyone knew the contents of it. I bought a box today, took out the cube and replaced it with an ice cube sized chunk of 'bug burger' i had whipped up earlier. I've never seen crickets move so fast. Within 1 minute, the entire chunk of bug burger was covered with crickets, so whatever food Petsmart has them packaged with must not be too appetizing to them.

Petsmart does not manage this product- they come to us pre-packaged (just like you take them home) and we are under strict ties not to open or unseal the package. It's achtually sad because most of those crickets die because they are on th floor too long. But like I said, its not us, its the company on the box!
Everyone asks about those boxes, and our hands are tied regarding their care. :(

Our "bin" crickets are on the Fluckers cricket food (the tan stuff) and water gel.

Either way....nobody will really recommend Flukers products or whatever it is in crickets to go. These can be considered the minimum to keep crickets alive and hydrated (often they will FAIL at this too :))

Bug burger or Cricket crack are high quality foods to provide variety to gutloads. Fresh fruit and veg are the way forward - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/75-feeder-nutrition-gutloading.html

YES YES YES ;)
I was too caught up "defending" Petsmart to think about gutloading.
hahahaha.

But more importantly, how is Commah today?....My little GodChameleson :D

What i also don't like about this product is the accumulation of feces in such a small space. That has to be a breeding ground for bacteria.

I also notice mold forming in there sometimes too.
