picking up some eggs tomorrow have questions

The eggs are at 7 1/2 months? All mine hatch usually at the exact 6 month period. Make sure to keep them at a constant temp.

Jungle they are a few days past 7 months. His clutch from 3/18 are just hatching now so I am expecting to be waiting until around the end of the month.. the closet they are in is remaining a constant 72-74 is that fluctuation too much?

Thanks everybody for all the replies. Unfortunately to the dismay of most of you I did pick up 6 eggs.. I used the pen light method to candle them and they appear to be fertile however time will tell that story. This will not be something I do again. However I paid 200 so even if one hatches I make my money back. I honestly wanted a kammer and I should have just shelled the money they're way in fact I probably still will. For now we wait on these eggs and hopefully they all hatch beautiful little ambilobes. I did see his breeding colony which consisted of one ambilobe male and I believe 4 ambilobe females. And he also had a nosy faly pair. There was two cages with hatchlings from a clutch laid 3/18. The eggs he sold me were laid 4/26. My only concern is I feel he probably mass reproduces because he had two incubators full of deli cups. Either way it won't be the first time I've been burnt off craigslist for something if they don't hatch but I could potentially have 6 ambis. Plus I know he goes to the all Ohio show every month I'll follow him to the parking lot afterwards if they don't hatch and show him what's up.. you know demand my money back lol.. anyways I brought them back in my warm truck without moving or turning them what so ever. And brought them home I have the deli cup in a Tupperware container with just a tiny bit of water in the bottom. And they have been moved to my closet which is staying around 72-74 degrees now we wait.

Put eggs in styrofoam cooler. Place in the most constant temp area (closet) of house. I use my water heater / air pump closet in loft. Stays the same temp year round, basically. Want temps around 75-77°f.

Yeah my bad on the camera angle.. not exactly photogenic.. more like ***** let me back in the cage I wanna climb lol.. anyways I have another one pipped through the shell and the other eggs are sweating like crazy.. I started to realize it was coming sooner than expected so I picked up a few ff cultures yesterday hopefully they start producing because being Friday most cricket sites won't ship till Monday.. And all the small crickets at pet stores around here are like 3/8.. I know they probably won't eat much the first few days but I'd rather have the food here

They are prolific breeders, and you are gonna need much more than you have for those babies. Especially, if you're ff's aren't producing yet you'll run out of them very fast. Scott just wanted to thank you again. YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER. I was not anticipating these eggs to hatch for a few weeks and my ff cultures weren't producing well yet. I can't get crickets shipped until Tuesday and no one around here carries anything under 1/4". The bean beetle culture you gave me is going to save me in this pinch and save my wallet over the next few months. I appreciate it not many people will go out of their way to help like that.

On a side note, I've got 3 eggs broke through now and the other 2 sweating. I'm hoping to head home from work in the morning and finding a few more crawling around

I just love threads with a questionable start, then they turn into something wonderful. I am happy your eggs are hatching, that a fellow Cham person was there to help, and that hopefully all will be good with the babies.

Also don't be shocked that another forum member stepped in to help. Lots of us do that all time. We are here because we all love chams. Just pass it on when you can.

2 have hatched now... The one sat in his shell about 60 hours they I left him in the container till he was walking around nearly another day.. he doesn't seem very healthy hoping his condition changes. at first he was roaming a lot but then he started hanging out around the floor of the cage.. put them together a baby bin today hopefully it works better than the screen cage I had them in. Three eggs are pipped now 2 have been sitting in the egg about 48 hours.. The other about 12.. I think the breeder I got these from was overbreeding his females and pulling all their nutrients. because the eggs are very small and before they hatch they shrivel to practically nothing and the hatchlings seem a little visually malnutritioned or under developed for 7 months. Still hoping for the best here. The first hatchling is roaming around crazy and when he seen the second one in his bin he got all fired up it was actually funny to see such a mean looking mini cham lol.
