can anyone tell me how old he can be? The pet store is telling me the he could be about a year or so.... also i am trying to figure out why my Chameleon is scared of my girlfriend.... does anyone else have this problem

He looks really healthy, age is hard to get spot on but he definetly looks over a year. Chams are shy creatures. He's probably used to you but not your gf.

Like Jake said its hard to pin point an age.

About your cham being afraid of your GF, do you do most of the care? (misting, feeding etc..)
I do 98% of the care in my house and my Cham Ernie doesn't mind me but hides from my roommate.

I think they get use to certain body movements and people. I've read Melleris can recognize there caretakers may be panthers are similar?

He does look to be a year or so, but really its not possible to know for sure unless you know when he hatched.

Your gf may have quicker, faster movements or just be less familiar to the chameleon. Get her to stand somewhat still in the chameleons room, at some distance from the cage but in sight, for long periods of time on a regular basis, or get her to start feeding the chameleon. That might help.

I've noticed that my cham, a veiled, gets pissed when I wear red or bright pink shirts and/or nail polish. He actually lunges at me (my hands) when I have the nail polish. The shirts just make him go away quickly.
