Plant Grow Light

I'm currently using a Zoo Med ReptiSun 15 Watt 18-Inch T8 Fluorescent Lamp for UVB along with a Phillips Agro-Lite 50 Watt plant grow light for my basking light. I use a plant light for basking to provide additional light for the plants.

This winter has been pretty rough on my plants. I've been cycling them out of the encloser to a window with more light, but I have to do that every few days and they're still not doing great. I purchased a Future Harvest Development Sun Blaster 26W CFL 6400K and am using a Fluker's Deep Dome Lamp with it in addition to my other lights.

The plants have responded great, however the light seems really intense. It doesn't put out much heat, which is good, but it's blinding. I think it will be a great light once I switch to a larger encloser. I'm a little concerned it's too much for the smaller one.

Can grow lights have any harmful affects on chameleons (specifically juvenile Panther)? My main concern is vision. Also, (like I mentioned) they make the same CFL bulb in a 13 watt. I'm not sure if it would put out enough light to be effective.

I'm open to suggestions. If anyone has used 13 watt CFL's with good results, I'd appreciate feedback.

Thanks

You should stick with the higher wattage bulb. If you can break up or diffuse the light via more vines, branches, foliage, it will still grow your plants and give your Chams eye shade.
Bright inescapable lights will probly annoy them. I find my Chams will posture thier heads/eyes away from the most intense spot of the light.

Try to replicate leaves in a canopy of trees in certain areas for eye shade.
