Please clarify rule for size of food

Hi gurus! I'm a bit confused by he feeder size rule. i get it in regard to crickets: the length of cricket should not be more than width between chameleons eyes, but how to I use this formula with worms? Im thinking it must be the width of the worm here, not the length, Because whose charms head is a wide as a hornworm, right?

not a guru but my understanding is it is the width of the worm.... or some say a bit smaller than the width between the eyes. Hornworms however are so soft bodied that you can go bigger if they will eat it.

It should actually be the width of the cricket, I had that confused as well. All bugs including worms follow this rule, some exception like stick insects, mantis,etc
