Please help...
I am new to chameleons care, I have had my chameleon for 3 months now.
This morning my chameleon woke up with a ghost white color- see photos.
I have a Black Heat infrared heat emitter at night. But the chameleon tends to hide behind thick leaves so I am not sure if the heat is getting to him.
House temp over night was low 60s
The cham is in a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft cage.

I was giving him crickets the first 2 1/2 months and recently started adding super worms to his diet. He is eating 2-3 superworms a day and has lost interest in the crickets.

I spray him down 3 times a day and also have a reptifogger on low 6hrs a day.
PowerSun 160w is on 12hrs a day.

Why does my chameleon turns white at night?

it looks like hes abot to shed.

however, few other things...

he stopped eating crickets because you gave him dessert, now he doesnt want to eat his dinner. stop with the superworms for now, and ONLY offer crickets. or get some dubia roaches.

he doesnt need heat at night. they can take temps down into the mid to low 50's. besides, they need total darkness to sleep.

what UVB bulb are you using?
what supplements do you have?

I am using a 160w Powersun flood light 12hrs a day.
I am dusting crickets once a week with Repashy calcim plus*
(vitamin and calcium supplement)
recommended by breeder.

Sorry not familiar with that bulb. I just looked it up.

he should be getting the repashy every feeding, not once a week.

thanks so much for your help! I will feed him dusted crickets from now on.... How long does the shedding last?

thanks for your help again... turned out he was just shedding.
