Please help - veiled chameleon hitting his head on cage

My veiled chameleon has been hitting his head on the wall of the cage which has caused it to bleed.
The skin on the tip of its nose has come off and you can see flesh and blood.

He is almost 1,5 years old and has always been quite aggressive. We have never been able to handle him and he mostly hisses at people near his cage. But recently it has gotten worse and now he keeps hitting his head on the cage very hard.

Has anybody seen this before? Any advice? Is it stressed or ill? What should I do?

Any suggestions welcome since we completely lost and very worried. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum... Unfortunately he will need vet treatment for that.

They will typically do this if the cage is too small or not set up quite right.

Can you post a picture of the entire enclosure including the lighting on top?
